A little about me. My name is Joey. I am 53 year old mom to have two amazing sons, Tyler (28)and Jake (26). I have an incredible and supportive tribe including my family and friends who are family. Just kidding. Tyler has an amazing wife, Kelsey. She is like a daughter to me. AND, they are expecting! I will become a Gigi in January to a wonderful grandson and I can’t wait to meet him! Kelsey is a gorgeous and glowing mommy to be! Jake, has an awesome girlfriend, Jessa, who I really love too. My mom, Cathy, moved in with us 14 years ago to help me with the kids and house when I was spending way too much time in the hospital. I love my family more than life itself. They are my reason to wake up each day, hobble out of bed and smile. These are the main players. You will hear me refer to them often so introductions were in order. I have an enormous group of loving and supportive friends who are my extended family.  I am so blessed! So much has happened in the last ten years so get ready for one hell of a welcome back!

I am living with systemic scleroderma, Sjogren’s, Raynaud’s, gastroparesis, vasculitis, ILD, and may other things, and I am getting feeding tube placed next week for the second time in my life. RIP to midnight donuts or, wait what? Or? AND happy hour cosmos…but here goes everything? I know this is the next best step for me so I’m in! But especially some whining about not eating…apologies in advance.

I have been in the hospital currently for 8 weeks today with about a projected month of treatment left. Scleroderma is a tough one along with Sjogren’s, Raynaud’s, gastroparesis, and my pick of the year, advanced ILD (interstitial lung disease).

But I am blessed beyond belief!

That’s ME! Joey just Joey! And if you missed the mom reference, not that it matters one bit because I am everything/everyone friendly, I am a girl with a boys name. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My life is wild, so strap in!
